In the last few years new dermal filler materials have come onto the market which have revolutionised the way in which we treat facial ageing. The biggest breakthrough came with the introduction of hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the human body, particularly in human skin. As we age this hyaluronic acid disappears from our skin. The facial dermal fillers that are used today replace not only the hyaluronic acid lost, but also bone loss, fat loss and rejuvenates the collagen and elastin in your skin. This is the reason that when used correctly fillers can restore our natural, healthy, youthful facial appearance.

The above photo was taken five minutes after treating her marionette lines with Restylane hyaluronic acid. The patient was delighted with the result.
The patient was unhappy with the appearance of his nasolabial folds (the lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth) and wanted them to appear softer.
The patient’s nasolabial folds were softened using dermal filler, and the patient was very happy with the result.
