The big question is why do our faces look older as we age? There are 3 main reasons for this.
- Unfortunately, as we age the bones in our face shrink and the fat in our face drops to the lower part of our face. Also, a very important naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid is lost. Hyaluronic acid plays an important role in skin quality. The bone, fat and hyaluronic acid loss along with fat redistribution makes our faces look older. The great news is that if the bone and fat tissue is replaced with filler (hyaluronic acid), the ageing process can be reversed and our faces can be made to look younger.
- For people that have expressive faces the constant use of the facial muscles will over a number of years produce unwanted wrinkles. Fortunately, the correct use of Botox or Azzalure (basically the same) can solve this problem.
- The quality of skin is very important. Sun damage is the main cause of poor skin quality. There are a large number of treatments that can be used to treat damaged skin. Please read the other sections of this website on how to treat damaged skin.
